Senior Research Associate / Scientist, Early Discovery Molecular Biology
Overview
Monte Rosa’s rational approach to targeting disease-causing proteins for degradation will deliver pioneering therapies for cancer and other diseases. Delivering this new generation of treatments to patients requires a conceptual change. Monte Rosa recognizes this urgent need and is missioned to develop innovative protein degraders as a solution. Combining deep knowledge, insight and leading-edge science, our integrated engine is built for that purpose.
Monte Rosa Therapeutics is seeking an energetic and self-motivated Senior Research Associate / Scientist to join our innovative team working towards discovery of unique molecular glue degraders for the treatment of targeted patient populations in oncology. This is a lab-based position. The successful candidate will have experience in a variety of cellular and molecular biology techniques and be comfortable learning new techniques as needed. The role will focus on executing on early discovery biology strategy, which will include both assay development and validation for new oncogenic targets. The candidate should exhibit excellent communication and collaborative skills for working on cross-functional teams, as well as be comfortable working with some independence.
Responsibilities
- Validate targets and/or target rationale
- Aid with early discovery biology on chosen targets and/or strategy
- Help guide, design, and execute the validation of hits from high-throughput screens using cellular assays
- Develop and independently perform an array of molecular biology assays (e.g. viability assays, western blotting, qPCR, and/or NanoBRET) to define mechanism of action of molecular glue degraders
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters in cell/molecular biology, cancer biology, or genetics with 5+ years’ experience in biopharma industry
- Experienced cell and molecular biologist with hands-on experience in oncology small molecule drug discovery
- Experience with a variety of molecular biology methods and assays such as immunoblotting, CRISPr/RNAi, transfection and transduction, ELISA/AlphaLisa, and NanoBRET
- Experience preparing drug dilutions and performing drug viability/cytotoxicity experiments
- Experience in early drug discovery
- Protein degradation experience is a plus
